DECEMBER 2020 UPDATE FROM GM CHRIS ROLAND

December 4, 2020

Things are picking up steam at the Co-op as we head into winter.  The housing for our walk-in coolers out back is completed.  Steel work is being finished and the new roof is on.  Our store front is awaiting new windows and doors.  Drywall is up and wiring for all our electric and technology needs is being installed.  New duct work and coolers are going in.  HVAC units will get installed next and lighting and flooring will follow.

As with any project there have been some hiccups and delays, but we’re handling them and keeping things moving.

We’ve started interviewing for management positions and we will have an announcement of our first hire very shortly! We’re going to build a great team to take care of our great owners and customers.

A big chunk of my time will be spent signing up with the 100+ vendors and distributors along with picking out the thousands of products that we will open our doors with.  You’ll always have a say on what’s on the shelf at the Co-op, so don’t worry if your favorite isn’t available on day one.

We’re meeting with local farmers every week and connecting with the local producers in our area.

It’s an honor to be doing this work for our Food Co-op and this community. I look forward to sharing more with you throughout this build-out process and serving you for years after we get our doors open … which will be right around the corner

Cooperatively Yours,

Chris Roland
