Eating in season: November

Time to get out those slow cookers and Instant Pots! Fall’s cooler temperatures make us crave foods that warm us up.

This month, don’t miss our plant-based cooking class with Liz Ritoli of Stone Soup Village Kitchen. Liz’s talk about “warm” salads for cooler weather will cover how cooler temperatures and shorter daylight hours trigger changes in our emotions and appetites. She’ll also demonstrate how we can use cold-weather greens and other seasonal vegetables to make delicious warm salads that might be more appetizing than raw salads as the days get cooler. The class takes place on Wed., Nov. 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 905 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, Va., 22401.
