Sixth Annual Meeting

August 7, 2021

What a year! Our long-awaited community-owned grocery opened its doors on April 1st. We now have nearly 2400 owners whose financial support made the store possible and whose patronage will help ensure the financial success of the store.

The next big event on our cooperative agenda is the Food Co-op Annual Meeting.  This will be our Sixth Annual Meeting. It will take place on Saturday, September 11 at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, Fredericksburg Branch from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. At the meeting you will hear about the past year’s highlights along with the financial results of store operations to date and lastly, but not least, the results of the Board of Directors election.

One of the many benefits of being a Food Co-op owner is that you can help shape the vision for the store, including its involvement with the community. How can you do this? One way is to make sure you vote for the Board members who will best represent your values and ideas. Another way is to run for a seat on the Board. Each year, three of the nine Board seats are up for election. If you are an owner, you are entitled to run. Please note that only one member of an owner household can run and serve on the Board at one time.

Everyone who attends the Annual Meeting will receive a $6 coupon for use at the store. This represents the six years the organization has been in existence.

Here is hoping to see you at the Annual Meeting on Saturday, September 11!
