Volunteer Spotlight: Linda Vinnedge
April 28, 2020
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am Linda Vinnedge and I came to Fredericksburg 15 years ago. I work at the library and have always loved the community events offered in the area.

How did you hear about the Fredericksburg Food Co-op and why did you become a Co-op owner?
A co-worker told me about the Co-op and I joined because of the strong connections it will have with our community.
What volunteer work do you do with the Co-op and what do you like most about volunteering?
The co-op community has been growing for a number of years and to do my part I have become a volunteer. I make reusable grocery bags from t-shirts that are passed out at community events. Recently I have been involved with the 2020 Owner Loan Campaign. It will provide the money the Co-op needs to be fully capitalized when it opens this fall.
What are you most looking forward to about the Co-op?
I am looking forward to shopping at a store with local roots and products which are local and healthy.
What’s your favorite thing about the Fredericksburg food scene?
The locally owned restaurants in Fredericksburg offer a wide variety of great food and our community needs a grocer who will do the same.
What one local food experience would you not want our readers to miss?
The summer and winter Restaurant Weeks are always a fun way to try new places.
What advice would you have for someone considering becoming a co-op member?
The Co-op will be filling a gap in the community and I am glad to be a part of it.
