We’ve hit the 700-member mark!
On April 17, the membership of our Fredericksburg Food Co-op reached 700!
We started 2018 with 596 member-owners, and we are thrilled to have grown by more than 100 members so far this year.
As our membership grows, word really seems to be getting out about the many benefits of a member-owned grocery store co-op. Members tell members, and our network grows as more and more people become aware of our mission of opening a locally owned, sustainably focused, freestanding grocery store in Fredericksburg.
Our board has been working hard to solidify our plans as we move toward our goal of 1,000+ member-owners. We are actively looking at potential sites for the store, considering our options for raising additional capital and fine-tuning the timeline that will dictate when we begin to hire a project manager, and eventually a market general manager.
In the meantime, we continue to hold a full calendar of events, which serve to promote the Food Co-op’s goals of a healthy community and sharing knowledge on healthier lifestyles. All are welcome to attend these events.
There is still a week and a half left in April, so you can still take advantage of our April incentive for new members. Every new member who joins in April will be entered into a drawing at the end of the month for a $200 prize–that covers the cost of your membership!
Please continue to tell your friends about the Fredericksburg Food Co-op. We hope to be able to share more exciting news very soon!
