Celebrating 5 Years of the Fredericksburg Food Co-op

This month, we’re proud to celebrate five years of the Fredericksburg Food Co-op.

What began as a shared idea, a community owned grocery store built to serve Fredericksburg, has grown into something far greater than we could have imagined. Over the past five years, the co-op has become a place where neighbors connect, where local farmers and makers are supported, and where access to good food is rooted in community values.

From the very beginning, this co-op has been shaped by the people who believed in it. Our owners, shoppers, staff, and local partners have all played a role in building something that reflects the spirit of Fredericksburg. It is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in care for one another.

As we mark this milestone, we are taking time to reflect on how far we have come and to say thank you.

To our owners, thank you for investing in this vision and helping sustain it.
To our customers, thank you for choosing to shop local and support a community driven model.
To our farmers and makers, thank you for trusting us to share your work.
To our staff, thank you for showing up every day to make this place welcoming and vibrant.

This weekend, we are celebrating together with our Owner Appreciation Weekend on March 28 and 29.

Vendors will be in store on Saturday, offering a chance to meet some of the local producers behind the products on our shelves.
Owners will receive 10% off their entire purchase all weekend.

We hope you will join us, whether you have been part of the co-op since the beginning or are just getting to know us.

Anniversaries are a time to look back, but they are also a chance to look ahead. We remain committed to growing thoughtfully, deepening our partnerships, and continuing to serve as a space where community and food come together.

Thank you for being part of the first five years.

We are looking forward to the next.
